Non Perishable Food For Thought...

It pains me to see people bitch and moan about how hard their life is. Bugs the shit out of me to no end.

Why? Well, let me tell you why...

Your life isn't that fucking tough. Period. If you're reading this blog post, it says alot already. You have an internet connection for one. Whether it's at your home and you're sitting at your computer, or on your couch with a laptop at hand, or you're out and about reading this on your phone, most of which will do nothing short of fuck, suck and do the dishes for you. Yea, i can see why your life could be so hard.

But tell me... How is your life so tough in comparison to a homeless person?

It's unfortunate that you hate your job too. It must be a pain in the arse making money and rewarding yourself with a nice dinner and a few drinks with friends after a hard week at work. Or buying the latest shoes to hit the shelves, or a holiday overseas lapping up the sun on a tropical beach with a cocktail in hand (little umbrella included).

It must be a real hassle making rent / mortgage payments on time too, but at the same time, a great weight off your shoulders to know you CAN in fact do just that because of the lame job you hate so much.

There's a percentage of unemployed people in every town, city, state and country around the world who don't have a regular day job to hate. They aren't going out. No buying nice things. No holidays or paying bills on time. Nope. None of that.

So in comparison to millions of people around the world who don't have a job to go to, i'd say you've got a pretty sweet deal. You might feel like your not being paid enough for what you do, but it's better than not being paid at all.

So tell me, what would you rather have... A little bit of something? Or a whole lot of nothing? .....yea, i thought so. Don't get me wrong though, i'm sure your life is tough.

Waking up on the wrong side of the bed must really bother you and your lifestyle too. Seriously. The neighbour mowing his lawn whilst you sleep. The cheek! Burnt the toast you were going to have for breakfast? Grrr!! Kicking your toe on something left on the floor, while walking to the bathroom rubbing those tired and weary eyes.... What a buzz kill.

Times like these must really make you feel like going back to bed and starting all over again, right?

You over looked the fact you got to wake up at all. It's not your RIGHT to wake up every day. Life doesn't owe you anything. Be thankful you were able to wake up and walk. That you can rub tired weary eyes that actually have vision. You get to breathe. Yea, that's right.....breathe!

Why isn't it enough for you to be able to walk, talk, see, think, feel and be able to do those things for yourself?

We take these things for granted without sparing a thought for someone who's paralysed from the waist down. Worse still, the neck down. They'll never know what it's like to feel sand between their toes at the beach, nor will they be able to walk and play with loved ones in a park on a sunny day.

Something you and i CAN do, but maybe choose not to, because you hate sand on your skin or can't be fucked playing in the park for fear of getting your clothes dirty, or god forbid, you break a sweat and your make-up runs.

Yea, i know right... What a hard life.

Those who are born with debilitating disease's or conditions that need around the clock care and attention. What about their wants in life? I'm sure they would be far more appreciative of the things most of us wouldn't think twice about, in which most cases, we didn't even think about once.

The human race can be a strange thing and continues to amaze me every day. We're complex in so many different ways and yet, we're so ridiculously simple at the same time too.

I, myself, am far from perfect. I might even be responsible for taking simple everyday things in life for granted. I try to be aware of all things great and small, but it doesn't always work out that way. I admit i can be ignorant at times. Nevertheless, i still try.

My life is what is it is. I get to shape and mould it to how i see fit, or what i'd like it to be, keeping in mind that i have alot more than so many others do, and that my life isn't really that hard at all.

The next time you feel like your life is hard, remember, there's someone, somewhere out there in the big wide world less fortunate than yourself, who is doing it twice as hard.

Some non-perishable food for thought.
